Rock Hill Ranch is located in Talbott, Tennessee, a small town in Jefferson County.  Talbott is located about 45 minutes North of Gatlinburg and 30 minutes East of Knoxville.  Mike and I moved our lives and furry family here from Tampa Bay, Florida in April of 2008.  We both sold our small businesses in January of '08 and decided after much research to invest in Suri Alpacas because of their ease of care and the tax benefits of operating a small livestock ranch.    We purchased our first 3 breeding females from farms in Florida, Nebraska and Oregon.  We are focusing our breeding program on black and grey animals.  Our first cria (baby alpaca) was born on February 6, 2009.  She is a gorgeous medium silver grey/rose grey with amazing conformation and a calm disposition. She is exactly what we wanted for our first cria and is a welcome addition to our foundation herd! We look forward to Showing her this Fall and in the 2010 Show season.  We are also expecting 2 more cria before the end of the year.  We are finding the Alpaca lifestyle very enjoyable and look forward to meeting more of our fellow farmers on the show circuit.
